Ariel Winter’s personal and professional life is frequently the subject of bogus tabloid stories. Gossip Cop often debunks false claims about the “Modern Family” star. Here are five wrong rumors.

In September, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for wrongly reporting that Winter had been feuding with Burt Reynolds just before he died. The pair worked together on the 2017 film The Last Movie Star, and according to the magazine, they hated each other. The story was inaccurate. Although it’s true the co-stars had a brief disagreement on set, Reynolds noted in an interview with the Desert Sun earlier this year, “I just adore [Winter] now, but it took a while before we connected.” There are also several photos of the two chatting and laughing at the premiere of the movie. Meanwhile, Winter posted a loving tribute to the actor on Instagram following his death, while a rep for the actress assured us she “loved and admired” her late co-star. Whatever disagreement they may have had was long resolved before Reynolds’ passing.

Gossip Cop called out NW in August for wrongly reporting that Winter was pregnant. The magazine speculated that the actress was expecting a child with boyfriend Levi Meaden after displaying a “hint of a tell-tale bump.” Winter herself mocked the pregnancy rumors on Twitter, joking that her so-called “baby bump” was the result of “pulled pork sandwiches.” The actress’s spokesperson also dismissed the story as nonsense.

In February, Gossip Cop debunked a Star story about Winter teaming up with Sarah Hyland to star on a reality show when “Modern Family” ends. The outlet contended that the actresses were hoping to keep their careers afloat following the finale of their ABC series, so they came up with the idea to showcase their personal lives on a reality series. A rep for Winter told us on the record that the story was total “nonsense.” Hyland herself later retweeted our bust and joked, “Oh no. We’re TOTALLY doing a reality show. Already started filming. It stars us, dogs, food, workouts and boyfriends.”

Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer last year for falsely claiming that Winter’s friends didn’t approve of her relationship with Meaden, who’s 11 years older than the actress. The tabloid further contended that the TV star’s pals were worried she was about to elope with her boyfriend. But shortly before the bogus article emerged, Winter shared an Instagram photo of her and more than a dozen friends celebrating Meaden’s birthday. The actress’s inner circle clearly has no issue with her romance. And as time has shown, the actress and her boyfriend never eloped, nor are they even engaged.

And finally, Gossip Cop called out Star last year for making up a story about Winter paying Meaden to take care of her. The unreliable outlet alleged that the actress gave her boyfriend money to “cook, clean and perform other household chores.” The actress’s rep dismissed the premise as false and “incredibly insulting.” Winter later defended Meaden in an Instagram post, calling the tabloid’s report “fake news.” She added, “I have a BOYFRIEND and a PERSONAL ASSISTANT who are NOT the same person. I would NEVER pay my boyfriend ANY sort of allowance, nor would he EVER accept if I offered.”

Ariel Winter, 20, has plans for November 6. The actress is voting in the midterm elections, and she expects to see you at the polls! HollywoodLife caught up with the Modern Family star at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s A Time For Heroes Family Festival, and she told us in an EXCLUSIVE interview that there’s no excuse to not vote if you’re 18 and over!

“If you’re confused about how to do it, there are people everywhere that you can ask; there are websites that can [help you] figure it out,” she said. If you can’t make it to the polls, you can mail in your ballot, which is what I did.” Solid advice! “I just think it’s important to vote in general because whatever say we can have in shaping our future is very important,” she continued. “What’s interesting is that while a lot of people in my generation find it important to vote, they don’t always get out there and do it. They’ll tell everybody else, ‘you have to go vote’ or ‘I voted,’ but they haven’t really done it.”

Don’t be that person! While Ariel says that she has “a lot of political views” she doesn’t like sharing the specifics. What she wants is for everyone to vote. “I just think it’s important to just [vote for] whoever you want or whoever you feel passionate about. Go out and vote, and hopefully it’s [for] something good — and not something terrible.” Yes, that would be ideal! The November 6 midterms are just nine days away now, but there’s still time to make a difference. Check HERE via our partner, Rock the Vote, for all the information you need to make informed decisions before casting your ballot.

When news broke that a “Modern Family” character was going to be killed off, fans feared the worst. So did cast members.

Ariel Winter said she and her co-stars learned that someone was going to die when headlines about it first started popping up on news sites.

“We got the table draft like 10 minutes later and I opened it and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it’s me, I’m done. They fired me,’” Winter told Variety while attending the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s A Time for Heroes Family Festival in Los Angeles. “And then I’m like, ‘It’s not me, thank God,’ but also sad because we no longer have Shelley Long.”

Long’s character, DeDe Pritchett, met her demise on the show’s Halloween episode, ending the speculation of which “Family” member would be offed. For the show, dealing with grim subject matter was also new ground.

“We’ve never really talked about death before on the show,” Winter added. “It’s a very sad topic, but I think we tried to make it as light hearted as possible to just show how everybody deals with death differently. Grieving is not always the way you think it is, so I think it’s important.”

We caught up at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation 30th Anniversary at A time For Hero’s Family Festival on Oct 28.

Winter has dealt with intense online bullying. The 20-year-old actress recently took a social media break and deleted her Twitter due to extreme cyberbullying.

She she says the best way to deal with it is by understanding the other person.

“You know you also have to wonder well, what’s happened that you are feeling inclined to write that to somebody?”

Her point is something we should remember. We have to realize that peoples comments really have nothing to do with us and everything to do with them. Mentalhealth.net explains the psychology of anger. They state that anger can consciously or subconsciously be chosen as a substitute of an emotion. “Sometimes people make themselves angry so they don’t have to feel pain. People change their feelings of pain into anger because it feels better to be angry than it does to be in pain.” This is where bullying can stem from.

Regardless, negative energy can be really draining. Especially if you are in the public eye. So how does the Modern Family star stay grounded?

She shares the key to staying grounded is focusing on what’s really important, “I don’t really buy into Hollywood so much. I enjoy doing what I do. I enjoy acting and that’s really it. It’s fun to go to some different events and it’s fun to go to different parties, whatever they may be but I’m a homebody, I like staying home. I love hanging out with my family and I try to keep in mind what’s real in life. The people around me, the things I do and the people who support me. That’s real life, you know?”

What we can learn from Ariel is it’s important that we separate ourselves from a negative reality. We need to focus on what is real and who we are.

Regardless of the harsh bullying, the actress says we shouldn’t let it stop us from living our lives. In an interview with Seventeen, she vowed she would never quit social media. “I definitely have pushed myself to deal with the good and the bad because I feel there are so many girls who need to hear positivity,” she expressed. “I feel like as many of us women who can band together and discuss things in a positive way will be so beneficial. Losing one person in that discussion wouldn’t be helpful.”

The “Modern Family” star and her beau, Canadian actor Levi Meaden, donned not one, not two, but three different coordinated costumes to celebrate the holiday.

On Saturday, the couple was spotted in the light of day as they were seen leaving a party dressed up as characters from “The Incredibles.”

Later on, Winter posted a photo on Instagram of the pair dressed as Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock from the 2002 American Music Awards.

Her decision to include Kid Rock in her Halloween costume drew some ire from fans because of his political views. Winter responded to the criticism by saying, “We do not support anything he does. This was just a costume that has nothing to do with politics.”

Winter and Meaden ended their night by dressing as Michelle Pfeiffer and Al Pacino from “Scarface.”

Everyone has their own thoughts and opinions when it comes to politics. Celebrities fit into a bit of a unique category because they accumulate a following and fan base they can share their political views with. In the last 24 hours, Modern Family star Ariel Winter decided to step up on social media and get political.

“Voting is your right,” the 20-year-old actress exclaimed to her 3.9 million followers on Instagram. While Winter decided not to openly share what her political views were, she did want her fans and followers to know she exercised her right to vote. More importantly, she wanted to make it clear that she took the time to make an “informed” decision.

“I took time last week to go over all of my voting materials because I wanted to be sure I was making informed decisions. Please, register to vote today (if you haven’t already), educate yourselves on the propositions and candidates, and get out to the polls on November 6th,” the actress said in her Instagram post as she encouraged her fans to follow in her footsteps.

The first photo featured Ariel holding up an “I Voted” sticker. The second photo featured the young actress standing with Sharon Sacks, Winter’s studio teacher on the site of Modern Family. In addition to using the post to encourage her followers to vote, Winter also used the post as an opportunity to pay tribute to Sharon and thank her for being an inspiration.

“The woman in the second photo is someone incredibly important to me. She was my studio teacher on Modern Family since the show began, but more importantly, she’s family. Sharon made sure to instill in me the importance of fighting for what I believe in and never being silenced— no matter the cost. We ALL have a voice and a right to be heard,” Ariel added as she explained who the woman in the second photo was.

In just 24 hours, Ariel’s political Instagram post had accumulated over 105,000 likes and over 500 comments. Unfortunately, her message did not seem to be well-received by the individuals leaving comments.

Many criticized her for copying Taylor Swift who recently attracted a lot of attention for getting political on Instagram as well. Those same individuals, however, pointed out the deadline to register to vote had already passed in a lot of states. (more…)

Following the 2017 Women’s March and massive upset over the presidential election, feminism has seemingly been more at the core of major cultural dialogue and issues than ever before. And naturally, that’s led to many people debating what it really means to be a feminist: what does one have to be like? Look like? Say or do? Speaking on the red carpet at the Girl’s Up #GirlHero Awards recently, actor Ariel Winter explained why there’s no one definition of what feminism looks like, no matter what some people think.

“I sometimes get upset when people say they’re feminists but they do nothing for it, they put feminists in a box,” Winter tells Bustle on the red carpet. “I think feminism is anything you want to be.”

And the Modern Family star walks the walk, constantly proving that appearance and political beliefs aren’t mutually exclusive. The 20-year-old proudly posts photos showing off her body on Instagram, even though such posts are often the center of controversy. Winter clearly doesn’t care what people think — she knows what her beliefs are, and that’s what matters. “I hate the fact that… you have to look a certain way to be a feminist, you have to act this way, you can’t wear a short dress and be smart, you can’t look a certain way to be a champion for your sex,” she says.

While women have made massive strides since first-wave feminism took hold decades ago, Winter notes how there are still many people with an unfortunate, dated mindset about the female population. “There are still people who think that we have a specific role: that we can’t do the jobs that men do or the jobs that are important, that we’re meant to cook and clean and stay home with kids,” she explains. “And here’s the thing: there’s nothing wrong with that, if somebody wants to do that,” she says.

Winter further raises an excellent point about another misconception of feminism. “The other thing that bothers me is sometimes when people say feminist, they put it in a way that makes us seem like we want to have power over everybody,” she says passionately. “We want equality. Across the board. And that’s what feminism is supposed to be.”

Reminding oneself of that core belief and what feminism is all about is crucial, according to Winter. “We want to be equal to everybody, to all groups in the world. We don’t need to be above anybody,” she says. “Because then we’re doing what the people [are doing that] we don’t want to do. We don’t want that from them, so why would we do that?”

And while policies and societal standards that are influenced by feminism certainly aren’t simple, practicing feminism in daily life can be. For Winter, it comes down to supporting fellow women and truly taking action.

“You can make change, you can grow with other people, you can get other people to make change,” she explains. “People give up because they’re like, ‘I’m one person, doesn’t matter’… But one person can’t alone.”

By voicing opinions such as these, Winter is helping with the exact change and awareness she’s urging others to help create.

Ariel Winter is opening up about how the Pritchett-Dunphy family will deal with a major tragedy on a highly anticipated episode of Modern Family.

Last month, co-creator Christopher Lloyd told Entertainment Weekly that a “significant character in the series” will die in season 10, affecting the characters across multiple episodes. ET spoke with the 20-year-old actress at the first annual #GirlHero Awards luncheon on Sunday, where she talked about how the beloved comedy will handle such a serious topic.

“It’s a character that we’ll all be sad to see go, but it’s probably not an older character that you think is going to go,” Winter teased to ET. “We haven’t ever really had a death on the show. It definitely impacts the family, as I think it impacts any family. You know, some people have never dealt with death or if it’s a person close to them, they’re having to deal with them because it’s a tragedy, and you follow people’s stories on how they do that and I think some people obviously take it better than others.”

“It doesn’t hit people right away and it’s gonna be an episode that’s pretty relevant to how people deal with it, and some people’s struggles with the person that passed, and I think it’s a pretty real episode,” she continues. “And we try to do everything lightheartedly and it’s a show that people can enjoy, but also incorporate some real-life occurrences.”

Sunday’s awards luncheon was hosted by the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up initiative, which supports UN programs promoting the health, safety, education and leadership of girls in developing countries. Winter talked to ET about still learning how to deal with social media trolls in today’s world, and she offered up a few wise words.

“You know what, it’s a hard journey to move forward and not say anything and take the high road and knowing that regardless of everything they say, it’s untrue,” she says. “People don’t know you, and they only know what they see on the internet — which is a very small version of everybody — and they think it’s the whole picture. I, for a while, was doing fantastic and I wouldn’t respond to negative comments, but then, of course, you fall off the wagon. And because you get upset and, of course, in the current climate … you share your opinion and everybody takes it in a certain way, and then they bash you for it and you feel like crap and then you’re, like, well, don’t do that and why am I responding to this?” (more…)

Ariel Winter has so much body confidence and she refuses to stop sharing revealing selfies, even though it gets her plenty of shamers. We’ve got details on why she hopes to inspire others with her racy figure flaunting.

Ever since getting a breast reduction in 2016 — going from a 32F to 34D — Ariel Winter has been all about flaunting her figure. She keeps pushing the envelope when it comes to racy and revealing photos and despite getting some hate over it, she’s not about to stop. “Ariel loves her body and never wants to feel shamed by it. She knows that what she does when she reveals her body is not everyone’s cup of tea, but she is going to do what she wants to do as she is confident with herself,” a source close to the 20-year-old actress tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

“She feels that if she is open with her body that others will be more open with their bodies. She doesn’t want anyone to be shamed, so she is just trying to make a point that it is OK to be proud of you and your body,” the insider adds. Ariel has taken plenty of heat for wearing super skimpy booty shorts, flaunting plenty of cleavage and doing all she can to show off her skin. Even in magazine spreads she makes sure to wear outfits that are incredibly revealing.

“Ariel is more confident than ever after years of dealing with a difficult mother that would constantly make her feel uncomfortable. Her mom would fix her clothes in public, at events, and make comments to Ariel about her appearance, which was very difficult for the young actress. But as Ariel matured and grew into her own and moved away from her mom, she has learned a new level of confidence and security,” a second source tells us EXCLUSIVELY.

“She really loves her body now. Ariel now goes out to events in Hollywood and dresses in whatever she wants and her co-stars always tell her how great she looks, which feels amazing. She’s extremely comfortable in her own skin,” the insider adds. The Modern Family star just shared an Instagram pic on Oct. 7 from her new Composure magazine shoot, where she wore a cleavage baring purple bodysuit that plunged practically to her waist. Ariel appropriately captioned it, “Never been timid.” Yep, she proves that constantly.

The more the merrier! Ariel Winter opened up to Us Weekly about life with multiple canines while at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards on Saturday, September 29.

“They’re adorable. They’re very sassy,” the Modern Family star, 20, who has three pups — Cash, Casper, and Chloe ― gushed to Us. She and boyfriend Levi Meaden “have a Samoyed, a German Shepherd/Doberman/Rottweiler mix, and then an Australian shepherd.”

As for how her everyday life is with her four-legged friends? “Very chaotic. Well actually it’s not that chaotic,” she explained. “Our Samoyed loves to sleep. He loves to lay. He’s very chill. Our German Shepherd/Doberman mix she loves to play but she is the most loving dog ever … Our Australian shepherd, he is so dirty [and] so cute. He just flops around everywhere.”

Winter also dished on how her dogs get all the exercise they need while she and the 31-year-old Breaking In actor maintain their busy schedules.

“We definitely have some help when we’re working,” the California native told Us. “They run off a lot of their energy together. They all play a lot. They love each other so they are always playing in the backyard, in the front yard, in the house, on the couch.”

The Sofia the First voiceover star also added of her pups: “They give you unconditional love. There is nothing like — it’s just love. It’s love and fun and you guys build a bond. I just love them … it makes their lives 10 times better.”

Winter often takes to social media to share pictures of their adorable canines — including the hilarious reality of bed-sharing that comes with having a pet.

“Happy place,” she captioned a picture in May that shows her pups taking up the majority of her sleeping space. “We only get a tiny sliver of the bed when the dogs are allowed to sleep with us! Chloe is a blanket thief!”
